Planning Your Holiday in Menorca
We can help you make the most of your holiday by helping you to plan your itinerary on arrival. If you have not sailed around Menorca before why not take advantage of our local knowledge of the harbours, anchorages, weather, shops and restaurants. We also provide a copy of the Islas Baleares Pilot Guide by Graham Hutt.
Menorca is ideal for Charter for so many reasons. Firstly, you will climb on board your yacht on its home berth in the breathtakingly beautiful Mahón Harbour. Being 3.5 miles in length, sailing in the harbour is always guaranteed and it is the perfect place to get used to your yacht.
The island has sheltered morning, lunch time and evening anchorages all the way round, making it ideal for families. With more than 40 unspoilt coves with clear, turquoise water and silver sand beaches, a circumnavigation of the island is a delight. Get away from the crowds and anchor in a sheltered cove or visit the harbours of Ciutadella or Fornells if you are looking for quayside restaurants, unique shops and a rich sense of history.

"We have just returned from our third charter holiday with Menorca Cruising. There's a reason why we return - apart from the fact that the island is unbeatable, Menorca Cruising is simply excellent. For the record we were on the Beneteau 473.

As a sailing destination Menorca is great. If you are looking for a gentle family holiday, make sure to check out the prevailing winds at the time - either the north or the south coast will give you sheltered waters, and you are spoiled for choice of anchorages with beaches. If you are fortunate the winds will be fine for a trip right round the island during the week. (More enthusiastic sailors could do this in a day, but then you would miss out on so much....).

Our last trip was at the end of August, peak time, but at times we still still found ourselves on our own in idyllic coves. The beaches are just perfect, and very well kept.

John, Liz, Katey and all at Menorca Cruising are great hosts, seemingly in permanent good humour! The yachts are kept in great condition; it is one thing to keep a yacht up to coding standard but these yachts have more than that - a lot of attention is paid to the detail in the maintenance. Also, the domestic side is well taken care of - the galley supplies and linen were all excellent.

In summary, it was a great holiday, made all the better by Menorca Cruising. We'll be back."

Perfect Sailing Weather
Menorca enjoys around 300 days of glorious sunshine every year and it is rarely short of wind. During the summer days these winds average 3-4, providing a pleasant cooling breeze. They often fade away in the early evening to give you a peaceful night at anchor. Temperatures range from the low 20's in spring and autumn to above 30 degrees in July and August.
