Designed for:
Those who can already sail (can anticipate an accidental gybe) and are up to Competent Crew level with a basic understanding of navigation.
Our Aim:
To enable you to skipper a yacht by day safely on short passages in non-tidal waters. The course qualifies you for the International Certificate of Competence (only available to British Citizens), which is often required if you sail or charter in European countries.
Program:
Days 1 & 2 are about safety and boat handling the "Mediterranean way" under sail and power. Days 3, 4 and 5 we circumnavigate Menorca covering skippering techniques, yacht management, pilotage and navigation. We explore beautiful unspoilt coves each lunchtime. Evening stops may enable us to go alongside, in the pretty old fishing harbour of Fornells, famous for its great seafood restaurants, in Addaya or th eold capital, Ciutadella.

• Mooring fees in Mahon Harbour and Fornells
• Loan of lightweight oilskins (not often necessary from May to October).
• Freshly laundered sheets and bedding.
• Spanish VAT at 8%.
• RYA cruising Log Book G15.

• Flights (2.5 hrs. duration).
• Moorings fees away from Mahon Harbour and Fornells. Anchoring options available.

Pere did an outstanding job of assessing what we needed to learn and providing interesting and challenging exercises. We learned a great deal thanks to the excellent teaching.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, due mostly to the wonderful Pere who got us from shivering nervous wrecks to (fairly) competent crew in a week, plus fed us excellently as well! He was ever watchful, thoughtful and considerate and really made the week for me.

Excellent tuition at a good pace. Very encouraging, I would definitely consider continuing with further courses. Thanks for a great 2 days introduction to sailing. Plus the pre course communication was excellent - lots of queries were covered quickly by email.
